Tourette's Syndrome & Chiropractic
Care
Many physical and mental problems can stem from subluxation of the spinal joints and nerve
impairment.
Here is another example showing how people -no matter what their health - may need chiropractic care.
Tourette’s Syndrome
A 20-year-old female began experiencing motor and vocal tics at the age of three. She had never
taken medication for TS, but had tried to control it by taking magnesium and calcium
supplements.
Chiropractic care was administered after initial exam revealed disturbances to the nervous system
resulting from vertebral subluxation.Subluxations were diagnosed based on findings from posture, static and motion palpation,
thermography and static surface electromyography. The patient was seen 32 times over the course of one year.
She experienced significant decreases in the occurrence and severity of her motor and vocal tic episodes as
well as an improvement in headaches.
The nerves of the body send and control the organs and tissues of the bodies (including the
brain). Treating the joints and the spinal structure which harness the nerves results in the nerves
firing as they should and thusly controlling the body and it’s organs in a more orderly
fashion.
Disease, illness and malfunction of the body often stems from the fact that the nerves of the body
are being impaired. Proper chiropractictreatment will restore many proper functions of the body whereas other types of treatments could
have failed or gotten non-optimum results.
I frequently advise patients to at least come and see me and get a free consultation and examination
to see if their Tourette’s Syndrome is stemming from subluxation of the spinal joints or not. I am
finding in many cases that the condition does resolve or at least becomes manageable after a series of
treatments.
Bodies are designed to work in an optimum fashion. If they are not functioning in a way that
is optimum then that is a sign that something is impeding the normal functions of the body. I consider it my
job to find the “stop” on the line and get it corrected. Usually I can do this with chiropractic
treatment right in my office but if not, I can usually recommend a good all-natural, non-invasive alternative
route which will relieve the patient of their problem.
